Dear Friends,
This concludes our seventh year of operation in support of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke. Over the past seven years Friends' has raised a total of $241,860.13 through grants, gifts and other donations.
Grant monies were received from Holyoke Community Development & Chicopee Community Development for our Quality of Life Programs. These programs provided quality entertainment to our veterans and was well received by all.
Monies received from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts were used to purchase a Diagnostic Wireless Oximeter & Software. This oximeter is being utilized in our Respiratory Department to measure oxygen levels in patients.
Recreational activities, such as holiday & birthday parties, picnics, etc., were provided to veterans from monies received from the Bowler to Veterans Link.
Stop & Shop's monetary donation provided the means to purchase a Solara Tilt in Space Wheelchair and is being used in Physical Therapy.
Again this year we received generous contributions from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Employees Charitable Campaign (C.O.M.E.C.C), the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and the United Way Donors Choice.
Additional items purchased were Christmas decoration, a styling chair, banners and tablecloths for the Dining Room.
In the coming year we will continue to seek grants & donations enabling us to provide quality of life to those who served for us to maintain our freedom.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of the Friends of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke, Inc., we send our sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone who helped in any way and the staff support from the Soldiers' Home.
Sincerely,
Frank J. Cackowski, President Friends of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke, Inc.
